New: Half Day Wednesday Schedule
Starting March 10, students will have half day schedules. During this time, students will have social-emotional learning lessons and meet in small groups to continue to work on Reading standards as students prepare for eighth grade. The time in the afternoon will be used for independent work assigned to students at the end of the half day.

Hi Lewis Families!
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! I am the seventh grade Reading, Writing, and Social Studies teacher at Lewis and this will be my fourth year in this position. Seventh grade is an exciting year in middle school as students grow in capacity and begin to prepare for the high school application process in eighth grade.
I am originally from Michigan but moved to Chicago for college and became committed to teaching in CPS during my undergraduate years. I have a B.A. in English Literature and Secondary Education from North Park University and a M.Ed. in Teaching, Learning, and Assessment from National Louis University. When I am not teaching, I love reading, biking, running, and spending time with my golden retriever, Brady.
While this school year will contain much uncertainty and require flexibility from us all, I am looking forward to the learning and growing that will happen this school year.
