About Mrs. Barrie

Hi! My name is Jessica Barrie, and I teach Pre-Kindergarten here at Sauganash. This is my third year in Pre-K after teaching Kindergarten for 17 years, 16 of which have been at Sauganash. I graduated from National Louis University with a Bachelors and Masters in Education. I also received my National Board Certification. 

I am a mom of three beautiful kiddos and three fur babies. Kaden is finishing his last year at UofI planning to become a high school teacher. Addy is going into 5th grade and loves playing softball, and Tyler is 2.5 and the smartest and craziest little toddler. As for hobbies, I am into softball, fitness/wellness, gardening, and being a mom.

My favorite subject to teach is all of them (of course). There is nothing better than watching a student learn to read for the first time, but challenging my students in math and seeing what such young students are capable of is equally awesome. The best thing about Pre-K is the connections I make with these little ones. We spend a lot of time on social emotional learning and become a little family within our classroom community.
