About The Team

In the Fall of 2019, a group of excited, dedicated athletes that shared a passion for dance came together to form the LPHS Varsity Poms Team. The goal of the program was to provide a space for students to move, learn, and express themselves through dance. The team participates and performs at a variety of events including school athletic events, special external events, competitions, fundraisers, team-building activities, and service projects. The team is a two time Nationally Ranked Dance Team in Jazz and Hip Hop. You may have seen them around the community at events such as the Chicago Wolves Game, Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Chicago Minifest, ALS Walk for the Cure, Susan G. Komen Relay for Life, and Pitch in for the Parks. 

LPHS serves more than 2,100 students from all 50 wards of the city. The economic profile of our students is 48% low-income, making it difficult for some of our students to participate in extracurricular activities due to the associated fees. In donating you will be supporting a great cause - the continued development of our student-athletes as dancers, and our program as a whole.
