5/31/22:

Information and Application for Freshman Connection was added to "Freshman Connection" section of Support Doc/Videos drop down.

3/22/22:

A few reminders...

• You are now able to login to your familie's GoCPS account and view your results. You will need to login and officially Accept or Decline your offers before 5:00pm on April 1.

• Make sure to "accept" your best round 1 offer, even if you are hoping to get chosen off of a waitlist, are thinking of participating in round 2, or are applying for Principal Discretion for a Selective Enrollment School. If you get an offer from any of these mentioned processes and you choose to accept it, it will override what you accept right now. If you don't accept your best round 1 offer by April 1, you will lose it.

• Even if you are wanting to go to your neighborhood school, you still need to accept the offer in GoCPS. This will speed up your ability to register for classes at the end of this year.

• If you applied to a Selective Enrollment school in round 1 and did not get an offer, you can reapply through the Principal's Discretion process. The application window opened on 3/21/22 and will close on 4/1/22. If you are thinking of applying, read the entire Handbook IMMEDIATELY. This process takes a lot of work and you will not be able to complete it if you wait to the last minute. If you have questions after reading the handbook reach out to me right away. Find the Handbook in the "Principal's Discretion" section of the Support Drop-down above.

• If you are having a hard time choosing between offers, let me know and we can talk through it.

• Information about how the district determines what high school offers to make to students was posted in the "Selection Process" section of the support tab.

• Updates on when and how to view and accept your round 1 offers were added to the "Viewing/Accepting Offers" section of the support tab.

• Information about the waitlist process was posted in the "Waitlists" section of the support tab.

• Information about a second application round was added to the "Round 2 Applications" section of the support tab.

• Information about the Principal Discretion Process (including handbook) was added to "Principal Discretion" section of support tab.

3/7/22:

Hello parents/guardians of Chappell 8th graders.

Below you will find some important announcements concerning the high school application and selection process:

• High School Round 1 Selection Offers

Offers for Round 1 applications for High School will be available to view in GoCPS beginning Friday, March 18th at 5pm CST. Please note, families will have until Friday, April 1st at 5pm CST to accept or decline offers and to withdraw from waitlists. They can view offers and make decisions by logging in to their GoCPS accounts.

• Principal Discretion

Families interested in submitting an application packet for the Selective Enrollment Principal Discretion process can do so beginning Monday, March 21st. Principal Discretion for the 2022-2023 application cycle will close on Friday, April 1st at 5 pm CST. Please read the Principal Discretion handbook in its entirety before beginning the process.

• Family Trainings

OAE will also provide additional GoCPS selection training sessions for families (Dates and times below). Sign up for one of these sessions by clicking HERE.

• March 16th - English and Spanish - 2:00-3:00pm

• March 17th - English and Spanish - 10:00-11:00am

• Eligibility and Selection criteria list was added to the "Research Tools" section under the "Support Docs/Videos" tab.

• Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about HS Admission Test were added to "HS Admission Rest section under the "Support Docs/Videos" tab.

10/19/21:

The GoCPS Events Calendar was embedded in this website. This calendar will give you information on upcoming Open Houses and School Tours for CPS High Schools. Find it in this website by clicking on the top tab titled, "Events/Calendar".

9/15/21:

CPS High School Admissions Test - Tuesday, November 9th 2021.

CPS statement about the HS admission Test was added to the section "HS Admissions Test". More information will be coming.

6/11/21:

Possible need to Re-Subscribe to GoCPS.

If you and your student "Subscribed to GoCPS" prior to 6/11/21, you will need to re-subscribe. Unfortunately, the district had not reset the subscription link to the correct year. Check out the Support Video in the "Subscribing to GoCPS" section of this website for directions on finding the correct link and completing your subscription.
