Damarr joined CPS in June 2018 after serving as project manager for the 100K Opportunities Initiative through Thrive Chicago. He has leadership experience in the nonprofit sector, crafting organizational and marketing strategy, and nine years as a freelance advertising consultant, providing musical marketing concepts for leading brands. After receiving an MBA, from Babson College in 2015, Damarr became an Education Pioneers fellow and the Associate Director of Strategic Partnerships and Engagement at Kingsbridge Heights Community Center (KHCC). There he cultivated relationships with higher education institutions, corporations, and nonprofit organizations, and increased revenue, diversifying the organization’s funding streams by spearheading a crowdfunding campaign and procuring the largest grant of the year for the College Directions Program. Damarr supports the planning and implementation of CBE for the district.
