The Canty Counseling Department is excited to kick off the new school year by talking about Kindness. Our definition of Kindness is acting with understanding, generosity, and care. We believe developing skills around Kindness will help us build a strong foundation for a great year of learning, connecting, and growing together. Check out our Family Newsletter for more information about the social emotional learning curriculum Character Strong that we will be using this year and its Purposeful People program. There are even fun ways you can join us in kicking off our most Kind year yet! Watch for monthly newsletters like this that outline the skills we are learning in class and provide fun ideas to grow as a family at home. Here's to a great year!
Canty is thrilled to be using Character Strong this year for our social emotional learning curriculum! Monthly themes will relate to the Canty Community Pillars and students will gain skills to Be Kind, Be Strong, and Be Well. Look for more information about Character Strong in the weekly Family Newsletter!
This month, counselor lessons in all Canty classrooms will focus on age appropriate conversations about the importance of mental health. Ask your child what they've learned about the brain, coping skills, and being a supportive friend this month! You can also check out the Counselor Corner family newsletter for this month HERE.Â
Canty will be hosting it's first Career Day event on Thursday, April 17! Students in all grades will hear from multiple professionals working in different fields. To prepare, in March and April, students will be talking about career exploration and planning. Ask your student about what they're discussing!
Students discussed random acts of kindness and were challenged to find new ways to be kind at home, school, and out in the community. Click HERE to learn more about RAK!
