Hello Kindergarten and 1st grade families!

Welcome (and for 1st graders, welcome back!) to Bobcat Studio, Mitchell's very own student-centered art studio. This year we are starting out remote, but students will still have the opportunity to make some beautiful artwork.

I will join classroom teachers' Google Meet each week for art class. I will send out a weekly info sheet about materials that I will be talking about during class. You do not have to have them on hand - students can work with the materials they love and have in their home.

Creating artwork at home:

Encourage your child to build and explore with objects at home - blocks and Legos are wonderful for creating! Gathering the art supplies you have and keeping them accessible for kids is also a great way to encourage use. And save packaging (boxes, etc) for children to create - masking tape is usually all they need to start attaching materials together. Children also love drawing with family members - don't worry about your own skill, they will be thrilled to draw with you!
