Parents/guardians: Bobcat Studio is Mitchell’s choice-based visual arts studio for students. Choice-based art education stems from the idea that all children have the ability to create authentic artwork in a student-centered setting.
While we are in a remote setting, younger students will have mini-lessons to help them get ideas for artwork, demonstrations about new techniques, and opportunities to share what they have made. Older students will have a mix of art appreciation and studio/art making. Students will be expected to participate in the plan/create/reflect art making cycle, but with the materials of their choice.
Mitchell uses Artsonia as a way for students to keep a record of their artwork. Kindergarteners and new students will be added to the school Artsonia account. Families/students can access their accounts via the website directly. This year older students will also be able to upload to Artsonia via Google Classroom. Artsonia’s website is listed below - please email me for the school access code. https://www.artsonia.com/class
