What is AAC implementation coaching?
AAC implementation coaching is a collaborative partnership between AAC implementation coaches and IEP teams. The coaching model positions the IEP team as decision makers throughout the process including when creating goals and developing an implementation plan. Together, we’ll work towards improving the use of evidence-based practices that positively impact communication and curriculum access for AAC users in the classroom. Coaching participants will build on the knowledge they have gained in ATRC trainings to transform knowledge into practice.
What is the difference between training and coaching?
Training is typically a top-down process during which the trainer guides the learning process. Coaching is a collaborative partnership during which you will be able to set your own goals. Coaching is based on six partnership learning principles designed to promote autonomy and collaboration throughout the process.
