Dynamic device training is required for the distribution of high-tech devices (e.g. iPads, Novachats). This training is divided into two portions:
OSD Asynchronous AAC Basics via Google Classroom
This asynchronous self-paced course is designed to build a foundation of knowledge in AAC. Staff members that are new to AAC or potentially need a refresher would benefit from completion of this series. The webinars and activities will cover core language, aided language input, and chain of cues, as well as basic classroom implementation of AAC.
OSD Augmentative and Alternative Communication Interactive LIVE webinars
These interactive live webinars will focus on basic programming of the specific system, choosing appropriate goals for AAC, creating an implementation plan for an AAC trial, and taking relevant data regarding target words and level of prompting. You MUST have completed the AAC Basics course and/or passed the AAC Basics quiz in order to attend this class.
