Aleco Julius is a teacher, writer of essays and fiction, and book collector. Much of his work explores obscure knowledge, weird literary lore, and cosmic themes. He is currently a member of the Horror Writers Association.
His writing has recently appeared in Vastarien literary journal from Grimscribe Press, the folk horror magazine Hellebore, and Cold Signal Magazine. He has also published essays in the esoteric books Seeds of Ares and A Wayfarer’s Hearth from Anathema Publishing, as well as pieces in Fantomes and the Holland Files.
Look for his forthcoming work in Anterior Skies, Myth & Lore, Dark Matter Magazine, and Fiddler's Green.
He recently presented on the "Medieval Library" at the University of Cambridge, and has designed a course called "Fear of the Unknown" for the Newberry Library.
He lives in Chicago with his wife and two daughters. On weekends he is often found in the pit at a crushing doom metal show.
