Google Classroom is our “Home Plate” and it’s where our work is organized and stored. In Google Classroom, students will find their daily lessons posted and materials or links needed to complete the lesson will be attached to the lesson.
Google classroom assignments often require students to complete an activity on a Google “Doc”, “Slide”, or “Form”. The templates are part of the lesson and students will just click it open, type in responses, and submit the finished work.
Your child has a "Classroom" for each teacher.
There will be other times when a lesson is completed in Seesaw or Flipgrid. These platforms allow students include audio and video easily. There will directions and a link to these sites in Google Classroom if a lessons includes one of these platforms.
On the Google Classroom page, students will find the link to our Google Meet online lessons - Google Meet is the live, online lessons (in 3rd grade your child used Zoom). At the appointed time, students will log-in to Google Classroom and click on the “Meet” camera to join our live lessons.
To access Google Classroom, students log-in to CPS email . Then click on the "waffle" menu (9 dots that make a square in top right corner). Choose "Classroom".
How does my child find out about new stuff posted in Google Classroom?
Your child can also see the assignments posted in the "Classwork" tap in Google Classroom.
Your child will also receive an email when we post a new assignment or announcement. These emails come through your child’s CPS email account.
