ENGspire - THE NAME

This newsletter is in its sixth year of being published. Our newsletter name, ENGspire consists of two words, ENGLISH and inspire. With the ambition to inspire students to learn English and to feel inspired by reading the newsletter, ENGspire was born! We hope to enhance the English learning journey of our students in a fun and exciting way. Your attitude towards learning the language needs to be positive. So, unlock your mindset and always say “Yes, I can do it!"

OUR GOALS

The ENGspire Reporters programme enables students to gain invaluable English writing and speaking experience, take ownership in one's learning and enhance their awareness of the world as global citizens. Students who join our team have a chance to experience what it is like to be a journalist and to have their articles posted online for a real audience.

In 2022/2023, ENGspire Reporters will:

  • Become a part of a PenPal Project with students from a school in the United Kingdom. This will allow them to talk to their peers from another country and learn about another culture, languages as well as exchange ideas about different topics using English for communication;

  • Improve their writing skills and learn new vocabulary in English by performing scientific experiments, writing newspaper articles about important events and conducting interviews with teachers and other students;

  • Use different apps and software to create and edit interactive and exciting videos.

  • Go on an exciting trip and report what they've seen and learnt to the whole school by recording a video or writing a newspaper report (COVID-19 restrictions dependent).

ENGSPIRE REPORTERS 2022-23

ENGspire Reporters completed an "All About Me Hoodie" activity during our first meeting in order to introduce themselves and share their hobbies and passions with others. You can see their creative introduction below.
