Community Surveys- Contact us for a quote!
The GRB is building a community survey bank of questions to assess citizens' well-being and their feelings about local government services. Our goal is to offer an all-inclusive service of distribution and analysis. By using a pre-determined set of survey questions, we can be more efficient (thereby reducing costs), and we would be able to offer benchmark analysis between communities in South Dakota.
RESEA Evaluation
Dr. Nordyke and Dr. Gerrish are leading this project to evaluate South Dakota’s Department of Labor and Regulation’s Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment Program (RESEA). The evaluation will focus on the effects of specific program elements, such as the WIOA Adult and Dislocated Worker program, to measure the outcomes of individuals who receive additional services.
RESEA UI Profiling Models
Dr. Sebastian Wai, an Assistant Professor of Economics, and Dr. Gerrish are heading this project to review the South Dakota Department of Regulation’s Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment Program (RESEA). The GRB will specifically be updating the current profiling models with updated coefficients and data to explore new model(s).
Community Building and Crime Reduction
The GRB facilitated the evaluation for the Collective Healing Initiatives, which identified problem areas for RCPD and the Rapid City community. In order to address these issues, Dr. Braunstein partnered with the Rapid City Police Department to address community/RCPD trust issues in Rapid City, South Dakota. The GRB conducted two surveys to gauge attitudes about public safety and RCPD and then formed a Co-Responder Program.
USD Basic Biomedical Science (BBS) G-RISE graduate student survey
Dr. Hellwege with support from Allison Horkey is completing an evaluation of the USD BBS graduate program, as part of their G-RISE grant. The G-RISE program offers financial support for students from underrepresented groups in our region. The program conducted a survey with both quantitative and qualitative assessments to allow students to discuss their experiences in the program.
Rural Mentoring Evaluation
The GRB is facilitating a three-year contract to evaluate the progress of the rural mentoring program toward meeting both process and program objectives on an annual basis. One of the goals of the project is to increase rural students' sense of belonging and community at USD by developing mentoring and transition programming and adding course cohorts in the first semester of their first year. The GRB evaluation will employ a quasi-experimental longitudinal design with pre-, mid-, and post-observations.
