My name is Jules Teena P. Sarmiento. I graduated from California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) in Spring of 2025 with my B.A. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. During my undergraduate studies, I was part of a research team at CSUSB called the Work Family Life Research Lab, which focused on work-life balance in underrepresented populations. Additionally, one of my video editing projects, utilizing Adobe After Effects, is included in CSUSB's 2024 Voices magazine. I am currently an instructional design intern/administrative specialist at Regional Government Services (RGS) assisting with virtual training sessions and training development for public serving organizations.
I joined the Instructional Design and Technology (IDT) Program at CSUSB to obtain the M.A. degree. During my undergraduate studies, I realized that learning experiences in work environments warrants significant improvement. Combining my persistent curiosity towards technology and recognizing that work is a central aspect in many individual's lives, I aim to elevate the employee learning experience and employee's ability to perform effectively by employing adult learning and instructional design principles.
Throughout my experience in the IDT program, I have come to acknowledge that learning is never a linear process. The construction of learning experiences are immensely influenced by the integration of instructional design and technology, which encompasses a variety of critical aspects including, but not limited to, operating in multiple roles, maintaining ethical practices, and engaging in continuous collaboration. By being in this program, I approach learning not as a linear process but as dynamic and iterative.
