Irina Geiman is an adventure traveler who’s summited Kilimanjaro, snorkeled with sea lions in the Galapagos, and rock climbed in the Dolomites. Along the way she had participated in several rescues, including her own incident of hobbling away from the crag after being hit by a volleyball-sized rock. Irina learned about Virginia SAR and Shenandoah Mountain Rescue Group (SMRG) during a Wilderness First Aid course a few years ago. She immediately submitted an application and has since served in a variety of positions within SMRG, including as the roster manager, tech team member, and, currently, the group’s Vice Chair. Irina is a passionate educator who enjoys teaching the basics of rock climbing, mentoring new group members, and guiding roundtable discussions on a variety of subjects.
