A number of Covington wrestlers competed in the Ohio Athletic Committee (OAC) Jr. High District tournaments the past two weekends in weight classes with up to 32-person brackets. Five Covington wrestlers placed in the top-6 to qualify for the state championships in Youngstown, Ohio.
Out of the Vandalia-Butler district, Carson Taylor placed 2nd at 74 lbs., Michael Hagan placed 5that 78 lbs. and Kamden Hughes placed 3rd at 102 lbs. Jericho Quinter placed 3rd at 90 lbs. at the Oregon Clay district, while Chase Vanderhorst placed 2nd at 102 lbs. at the Olentangy district. Also competing and winning matches for the Buccs at the events were Dalton Bishop (78 lbs), Banks Koffer (110 lbs) and Aaron Jackson (114 lbs).
Beavercreek Middle School Classic

Covington competed at the Beavercreek Middle School Classic on Saturday, finishing in 13th place out of 25 teams, with 3 placers at the event.
Chase Vanderhorst won the 104 lb. championship, going 4-0 with 4 pins on the day. Jericho Quinter took 3rd at 92 lbs., going 4-1 with one pin. Dalton Bishop finished 4th at 80 lbs., going 4-2 with 2 pins.
Banks Koffer (110), Kaden Hughes (110), Brian Morrison (116, pin), Aaron Jackson (116, pin), Trey Schmelzer (122), Trey Kiser (142) and Cam Ha (160, 2 pins) also won matches for the Buccs.
Jr. High – Milton, Tipp, Sidney Invitationals
The Covington Jr. High recently competed in a number of tournaments. At the Sidney Invitional, Dalton Bishop (80, 2 pins) placed 1st, Aaron Jackson (116, 3 pins) placed 2nd, Cam Ha (160, pin) placed 3rd and Banks Koffer (110, 2 pins) placed 4th. Also winning matches were Trey Schmelzer (128, pin) and Charlie Morrison (205).
At the Tippecanoe Invitational, Dalton Bishop (80, 2 pins) placed 1st. Also winning matches were Tanner Garrett (104, 2 pins), Aaron Jackson (116, 2 pins), Trey Schmelzer (128), Cam Ha (160, pin) and Charlie Morrison (205, pin).
