The Covington Education Foundation has two endowment funds. The Covington Education Foundation Fund and the Covington Education Foundation Fund in Support of Covington Schools.
The Covington Education Foundation Fund was created in 1991 for the purpose of enhancing educational opportunities for the residents of Covington and Newberry Township.
The Covington Alumni Foundation Fund was created in 2011 to build an endowment that will support programs and resources for the Covington Exempted Village Schools. In 2019 the name of this fund was changed to the Covington Education Foundation Fund for Support of Covington Schools to avoid confusion with the already established Covington Alumni Association, which is not a part of this organization.
The Covington Education Foundation Distribution Committee manages both endowment funds totaling more than $160,000 and has made grants to date exceeding $20,000.
The Covington Education Foundation is a component fund of The Troy Foundation, which is a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations to these funds are tax exempt to the fullest extent of the law. Administrative and investment services are provided by The Troy Foundation.
Gifts to the Covington Education Foundation that are directed to the Covington Education Foundation Fund will be used to fund community activities and resources. Donations that are directed to the Covington Education Foundation Fund for the Support of Covington Schools will be used for the benefit of Covington Exempted Village Schools.
