Empowering Students. Engaging Families.
Enriching Community.
The Department of Community & Family Engagement (DCFE) collaborates across the district to implement enriching out-of-school time programming, foster meaningful mentoring relationships, and provide captivating family engagement opportunities.
These efforts are made possible through strong partnerships with dedicated volunteers, community organizations, and local nonprofits, including Partners for Change.
Out-of-school time (OST) programming includes structured programming for students which occur before school, after school, and during summer. Programming includes opportunities for academic support, enrichment activities, social development, and recreation beyond the traditional classroom setting.
By mentoring one student, you can change two lives. Volunteer mentors can share their time and talents by getting involved in one of the several mentoring program options, including school-based, work-based, community-based, after school, and more.
Family engagement is a shared responsibility in which schools and partner organizations are committed to engaging families in meaningful ways, while families are committed to actively supporting their children's learning and development. Several family engagement opportunities are offered throughout the school year at all district schools.
