May 24, 2019

This week Ms. Diehl/Ms.Heal's class and Ms. Lutton's class did an excellent job completing their latin dance unit. Each of the students choreographed and performed their own Latin dance. Some of the students decided to work independently while others collaborated with another student or a small group. Everyone finished their choreography and performed their dances for each other. I am very proud of all of the students.

This week Ms. Reyes' class and Ms. Elfering's class did an excellent job completing their latin dance unit. Each of the students choreographed and performed their own Latin dance. Some of the students decided to work independently while others collaborated with another student or a small group. Everyone finished their choreography and performed their dances for each other. I am very proud of all of the students.

This week Ms. Gembis' class and the Cougar class did an excellent job completing their latin dance unit. Each of the students choreographed and performed their own Latin dance. Some of the students decided to work independently while others collaborated with another student or a small group. Everyone finished their choreography and performed their dances for each other. I am very proud of all of the students. At the end of the week we were able to watch their entire dance portfolio. They enjoyed seeing the videos from earlier in the year when they worked on their hip hop unit. They are looking forward to getting a copy of their video.

This week Ms. Deihl, Ms. Heal and Ms. Lutton's class did a phenomenal job begin their own Latin choreography in small groups or independently. They all worked very hard choosing their music and including at least 3 Latin dance steps. Next time they have dance they will finalize their dances and begin performing them in front of their classmates. I am very excited to see their dances. They did a great job participating in many different team building activities and games at the end of each class.

April 26, 2019

This week Ms. Elfering's class and Ms. Reye's class did a great job beginning their own Latin Choreography. They decided if they wanted to work independently or in a group. They choreographed 10 steps with 3 of the steps being Latin Steps. The students were able to complete all of their choreography and will perform their dance next time they come to dance class. They also did a wonderful job remembering the choreography from the musical 13. I was very impressed with amount of choreography they remembered. They did a phenomenal job performing for Grandparents and Special Friends day. I am so proud of them and the other junior high students.

April 19, 2019

This week Ms. Gembis' Class and The Cougars did a great job taking turns leading the warmups with resistant bands. The student was able to choose their favorite song to lead the warm ups. The students did a great job working hard to complete the rest of the choreography for the Latin Dance. They even took turns adding more choreography to the end of the dance. They then performed the choreography as a class. I am very proud of both classes for completing the Latin choreography. The classes also enjoyed playing a team building game with noodles. The students had a partner and tried to keep a ball in between two noodles without it falling off to the sides or in between the noodles. I was very impressed with how well they worked together.

It was great to see the students back after spring break and hear all about their time off. The students did a great job working hard to complete the rest of the choreography for the Latin Dance. They even took turns adding more choreography to the end of the dance. They then performed the choreography as a class. I am very proud of both classes for completing the Latin choreography.

March 22, 2019

This week the Cougar Class and Ms. Gembis's did an amazing job strengthening their bodies with the resistant bands. They also learned more choreography for the Latin Unit. I was very impressed with the style they are able to add, especially to the choreography they learned in the beginning of the unit. They did a nice job performing the dance for each other. Both classes were very respectful and positive to one another. We were able to record the dance and the students are looking forward to watching themselves after spring break. On Friday they were able to watch some of their old dance videos. They enjoyed seeing how young they looked, their different hair styles and their wardrobe changes. I hope everyone has a wonderful Spring Break.

March 15, 2019

This week Ms. Diehl/ Heal's class and Ms. Lutton's class did an excellent job completing their hip hop unit. They created their own signature dance steps and choreographed a dance either individually or in a small group. The students enjoyed a party during the week and were able to watch all of the videos they have created. At the end of the week they began a new unit, Latin Dance. They learned the history of Latin Dance, watched some videos of partner dancing and whole group dances, and began learning a Latin Dance. I am very proud of both groups and their accomplishments.


March 8, 2019

This week Ms. Reye's class and Ms. Elfring's class did an excellent job completing strengthening workouts with resistant bands. They had a little competition with the elementary students to see who could last longer. They did a great job lasting the entire time, even if they were getting tired at the end of the warm-up. Both classes did a phenomenal job learning more choreography for their Latin Dance. The older material is looking cleaner and tighter, and they are even beginning to add their own style to the dance. I am excited to review the material next time they have dance and tape the start of the Latin Dance. Ms. Reye's class was able to perform the dance in groups. They enjoyed watching one another dance.

This week Ms. Lutton's dance class and Ms. Diehl and Ms. Heale's dance class completed their choreography unit. All of the students were able to complete their choreography and most of the students were able to perform their dances for their class. Both classes did a great job being respectful and supportive to one another while they were performing. The classes are looking forward to having a party to watch their hip hop unit next time they have dance.

They enjoyed learning the history of Latin Dance and watching different Latin dances such as the Cha Cha, Salsa, Rumba and much more. They then began learning an intricate Latin dance. I was very impressed with the great foot work, timing and rhythm they had. Both groups also finished all of their hip hop projects and were able to see the start of their portfolio. They enjoyed watching the dances they created and had fun looking back on videos of the past. It was was an excellent dance week for both groups.

I am so happy that everyone was safe during the winter weather this week. Ms. Lutton's class and Ms. Heal and Ms Diehl's class continued working on their choreography they began before winter break. They did a nice job adding more choreography to their dances and many of the students completed their choreography. They also enjoyed using resistant bands during their warmups this week.

This week Ms. Elfering's class and Ms. Reye's class worked on finishing their choreography they began before winter break. They did a wonderful job remembering the choreography they created and completing their choreography. After that, the students took turns performing their choreography. All of the students were very respectful and attentive while watching one another perform their dances. I am extremely proud of the students for being courageous to perform their dances in front of their classmates.

January 17, 2019

This week the Cougar class and Ms. Gembis’ class worked on finishing their choreography they began before winter break. They did a wonderful job remembering the choreography they created and completing their choreography. After that, the students took turns performing their choreography. All of the students were very respectful and attentive while watching one another perform their dances. I am extremely proud of the students for being courageous to perform their dances in front of their classmates.


January 11, 2019

It was great to see the students after winter break. They had huge smiles on their faces and seemed very refreshed. Ms. Lutton and Ms. Diehl/ Ms. Heale’s class worked on teaching their dance steps to the class. They did a wonderful job remembering their signature dance move that they created and teaching it to the class. The classes did an outstanding job learning each other’s dance step and had a fun time doing so. I am so proud of all the students for getting up in front of their peers to teach their step. Next, they will begin working on choreographing a dance either independently, with a partner or in a small group.

I am glad everyone had a safe and healthy Thanksgiving. This week Ms. Elfering's class and Ms. Reye's class have been creating their own signature dance move in google classroom. They sequenced how they would like the dance step to look, named the dance step and taught their class the dance step. I am very proud of both classes and the dance steps they have created.

November 16, 2018

The junior high students worked extremely hard on the 13 musical and their efforts really showed. The musical was a huge success thanks to the students who preformed and the crew members who kept the show running smoothly. We are so thankful for all of their hard work and dedication to the musical!

October 19, 2018- November 9, 2018

The students have been coming together to walk through the musical 13. They are doing a fantastic job working together, singing, acting and dancing. I can't wait for everyone to see their performance!!!

The students joined with the music class and continued perfecting their choreography. They are doing a nice job working together and memorizing the dances.


October 5, 2018

The students have been working on the choreography for the musical. They have been learning the choreography in their first class and then become the leaders in the all cast rehearsals. They have amazing ideas and have helped choreograph sections of the dance.


September 21, 2018

The students were able to complete a large section of the dance which included the bucket beats. They did an excellent job counting the beats and staying together when drumming. Then were counting by even and odd numbers. The knew to hit the floor on the odd numbers and hit their drumsticks on the even numbers. The students did a great job learning the dance sections and recorded the section for their portfolio.


August 31. 2018:

This week Ms. Elfring's class and Ms. Reyes' class began learning a hip hop dance. This dance incorporates partner work. The students did an amazing job remembering their numbers and the movement that correlates with their number. I was extremely impressed with their focus, coordination and timing. I am very excited to teach the next section which will included drumming with bucket beats.
