Important information

Here are some things you can do at home to help support your child's learning here at school:

  • Encourage your child to read at home every night. Daily reading is key to improving reading fluency and building vocabulary. All elementary students are expected to read for pleasure for at least 20 minutes each night, on the honor system.

  • Reading aloud to your child is also great! This will help build their vocabulary and comprehension skills.

  • Take your child to the local library to check out books of interest.

  • Support your child in completing their homework nightly. Doing homework in a designated space may be helpful to your child. Check your child's weekly homework log to see what homework was assigned

  • Send your child to school with a full water bottle, healthy snacks, and an easy to eat, healthy lunch each day! While we do have microwaves available for student use during lunch, the line to use them can get long. With only 20 minutes for lunch each day, I find that students are much less rushed if they bring a lunch that is ready to eat without microwaving.
