1.) FULL DAY RI PRE-KINDERGARTEN FOR 4 YEAR OLD CHILDREN
The Coventry Public School Department has two RI Pre-K classrooms which provide 5 full days of free, high quality Pre-K education to eligible four year old children. The RI Pre-K is fully inclusive, supporting the learning and development needs of all children. To be eligible to attend, children must be 4 years old by September 1st of the new school year and be residents of one of the identified RI Pre-K communities, Coventry being one of them. The RI Pre-K classrooms are presently located at Blackrock Elementary School.
Please visit the RI Pre-K page on the RIDE website to get updated information for the 2025-2026 school year.

2.) HALF DAY INTEGRATED PRESCHOOL PROGRAM FOR 3 AND 4 YEAR OLD CHILDREN
The Coventry Public Schools' Integrated Preschool program is supported by educators certified in both Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education. Children with developmental delays, as well as typically developing peers, participate in the Integrated Preschool Programs.
The Integrated Preschool classrooms are presently located at Washington Oak Elementary School. Click here to visit Washington Oak Elementary School. All peer vacancies are filled by lottery. Peer students who are 3 years old before September 1st of the new school year shall be eligible to attend the morning preschool session. Peer students who are 4 years old before September 1st of the new school year shall be eligible to attend the afternoon preschool session. Both sessions are 2.5 hours long.
Children who have been chosen for the preschool program through the lottery are eligible to participate until they reach Kindergarten age, as long as the Enrollment Process and the Tuition Policy are followed.
The Coventry Public Schools' Early Childhood Education Department, working in conjunction with the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE), is committed to providing Coventry's youngest children with high quality special education services and preschool programs. Research has shown that one of the best ways for children to succeed in school is to provide all children with access to high quality programs for early learning.
High quality programs are developed using policies and practices that have been proven to provide positive life experiences resulting in learning for all children. Coventry Public Schools offers a variety of programs to support and develop our youngest students.
