Is there a more fitting place to begin than with “principios,” literally “beginnings”? As you look through these words, you will see that they are to equip you with the skills necessary to navigate the beginnings of a conversation and also the beginnings of new relationships. You will notice the words are not only ones you would use when interacting with people you already know but also these words help you to engage in new conversation with new people you don’t know. That is the purpose of beginnings. It is new. It is welcoming. It is fellowshipping.
It is worth remembering the Biblical foundation of our faith, the beginning truths of Christianity. When we are interacting with those of another culture, we are still God’s witnesses. We are called to show the love of God to all - the neighbors (even those who are complete strangers) whom God puts in our path. We will begin with some of the basic truths you could use to proclaim your God and Lord. We will be starting out with those found in the beautifully simple Apostles’ Creed (El Credo de los Apóstoles), a creed confessed worldwide by His catholic church.
“Creo en Dios Padre todopoderoso, Creador del cielo y de la tierra.” - Credo de los Apóstoles
“I believe in God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth” - Apostles’ Creed
