Scripture says that, along with loving God with all of our heart, soul and strength, we should love Him with our minds as well. We want our students to love God with their mind. At Covenant Academy that means that we want our students to grow in their knowledge and understanding every day. We want them to be diligent in their studies and do their work with excellence, as to the Lord. It also means that we want them to develop a love for learning. Language, literature, logic, mathematics, music, art and science are different areas where we learn more about God through all that He has created.Â
A classical Christian education puts Christ at the center of learning and endeavors to teach children how to think. By that we don't just mean the mere mechanics of logic, reasoning or information gathering. We want to demonstrate that God has designed a way that we should think about the world and develop that way of thinking in our students. Christ-centered thinking helps to build a framework for Christ-centered, virtuous living.
Finally, we want our students to recognize and appreciate God's truth, goodness and beauty in the people and things God has made and all that has been revealed to us.
