I. First, breath~
First and foremost, take a deep breath. You are going to gain the skills you need to write these awesome assignments. I am here to help you every step of the way. I know that writing can be intimidating sometimes, so I am here to give you lots of support, love, and guidance. I promise that your grade will not be penalized if you want to explore with your expressions and thoughts. As long as you follow a few logistical guidelines, you will earn your best grade, but most importantly, you will put to paper some brilliant, moving and inspirational writings, stories, poems, lyrics, and/or written analyses.
II. Next, Plan~
The second thing to do in our journey is to map out the semester. Time management is a huge part of creative writing. Please watch this short video I made about time management in preparation for week 1's quiz.
III. Weekly Quizzes and Discussion Boards~
You will watch a peer's presentation and write a response/reaction following the guidelines on Canvas. These will be our weekly discussions. Additionally, every Sunday, you will have a quiz. The questions will be about the weekly assigned readings (not the optional articles.) They are not trick questions. They are also open book quizzes. You will have 30 minutes to answer 10 simple questions. Links to the quizzes are in our Canvas course.
IV. Do you want to get Honors credit for this course?~
If you are interested in earning Honors credit for this class (meaning an "H" next to your grade on your transcript,) please read this link. If interested, email Professor Pegah in the first two weeks of the semester so that we can fill out the required paperwork. Per the protocols of the Honors program, once we submit your Honors paperwork, you cannot back out of your project, so really think about whether or not you would like to commit. Please know that I will be involved with the project with you EVERY.STEP.OF.THE.WAY.
