Cottonwood Board of Trustees

The Cottonwood School Board holds monthly public meetings, open to parents, students, and staff. It consists of five elected members who serve three-year terms and live within the school's service area. Board meeting agendas are posted on the school's website. The Board is a policy-making body operating within California and El Dorado County laws. Board members go through an application process, including interviews and nominations. They are responsible for approving the school's budget and policies. The Board's authority is collective, and no member can act as a school official outside of regular or special sessions. Their role is to represent all educational partners of The Cottonwood School and balance the needs of students, staff, and the community when making decisions.
