Certification: B. S. Degree in Elementary  and Early Childhood Education

Years of Experience: Teaching for 30 years in some type of school setting 

 Passion for Education:  My love for teaching began early on.  My mother was a teacher and set up the basement in my childhood home as a classroom.  I would spend hours in that "classroom" teaching my friends, invisible students and  my little sister ( who  sat for hours and learned lessons well beyond her years!!) .  I discovered   a few things about myself during those years of  "play". I understood that I learned in a different way than most kids my age.  I needed to put information and details into little games and songs that would help me remember and retain the ideas I was trying to learn, I would act things out, create a dance or draw pictures to embed these concepts into my brain. As I moved forward in high school and college I found  myself using those strategies to study for exams.  My teaching  style today includes  this creative approach .  I clearly see that all children learn differently and at their own pace.  My goal for each class I teach , today in the present, is  to be able to guide each student to reach their full potential  while enjoying the learning process.
