I’m excited and honored to begin my 14th year as a member of the Corpus Christi faculty, who I refer to as family. I was a product of Catholic education having attended St. Aloysuis in Pottstown and St. Pius X High School. Since I was a child, I've wanted to be a teacher. I had so many great teachers as role models who inspired me and as I grew older I wanted to make a difference in the lives of children. I graduated from Beaver College, now Arcadia University, with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.
After graduating from college, I began my career as a toddler teacher. A year later, I was hired to teach third grade at St. Philip Neri in East Greenville and began my 25-year career as a Catholic educator. I spent 5 years there until I moved to New Jersey where I taught first grade. After moving back to Pennsylvania and taking time off to be a mom to my two wonderful sons, I worked as a second-grade teacher at a Catholic school in Philadelphia. Then the opportunity to teach closer to home appeared and I arrived here at Corpus to be part of an awesome second grade team. I moved to first grade three years ago.
In 2011, I graduated with honors from Cabrini University with a Master of Education in Reading. As a child, I struggled with learning to read and this lead me to this next leg of my own learning journey. A lot of my passion for teaching comes from my struggles as a student and a desire to find ways to reach all learners and help them reach their potential. I love when a child gets that “lightbulb” moment. I also love when I see the wonderful people my former students have become.
When I’m not focused on teaching, I love spending time with my family. My hobbies include photography and trying to keep up with the ever-changing technological world.
