LSN KIDS is 501c3 dedicated to encouraging cultural intelligence (CQ) and awareness to youth through art, world language, and cultural literacy. LSN KIDS was formed in 2007 and became a 501c3 a few years following its inception. All donations made to LSN KIDS are tax-deductible for those who itemize deductions. Donate here.
Currently, LSN KIDS offers students in grades 1-12 monthly cultural based virtual sessions, cultural contests, and awards/scholarship opportunities. Student members enjoy a wide range of opportunities from building camaraderie and gaining community service for resumes to creating books (Youth-Build-A-Book Project) to gain future profit. Prior to covid19, LSN KIDS offered free virtual instruction to students who were enrolled in the LSN KIDS Dance Team Program and those who took Virtual World Language and Cultural Literacy courses. Dance Team courses are not currently offered.
LSN KIDS currently offers two scholarships. One is the Corporal Freddie Stowers Distinction in Diversity Scholarship and the other is the Raising Cultural Ties Scholarship.
Criteria for scholarships can be found on the webpage https://sites.google.com/corporalfreddiestowers.org/lsnkidsscholarshipproject/home. Parents, guardians, and education stakeholders will be able to read the criteria and determine if their potential student is a suitable match. All scholarship applications are reviewed by a separate scholarship committee comprised of members of organizational groups and community members who have expertise in education, community outreach, cultural diversity, law, and/or psychology.
Thanks to our sponsors and volunteers across the U.S.!
