EXPECTATIONS, RESOURCES & SCHEDULE

Welcome to the Cornwall Central Middle School!  I am delighted to have you on our team this year. I will be your teacher for English Language Arts (ELA) and Social Studies. The following information are my expectations and procedures for the school year.

Mrs. Young’s Classroom Expectations:

1.   Be Prompt-You need to be on time to class.

2.   Be Prepared-Bring all needed materials to class, keep your desk and locker neat.

3.   Be Productive-Complete and hand in assignments on time.

4.   Be Positive! A positive attitude goes a long way.

5.   Be Polite-Treat your classmates, teachers and school staff the way you would like to be treated.

Basic Procedures:

Homework:

Homework reinforces the work we completed during the day. Most nights you will have ELA and social studies homework. You will receive a “Ticket to Success” at the start of the week. After completing all of your homework for the week, it will be traded for a coupon of your choice!

Tests/Quizzes:

Midway through a unit there will be a quiz, and at the completion of a unit, there will be a unit test.

Projects:

Projects are your chance for you to shine and show your creative abilities. It’s a wonderful opportunity to highlight other special skills.

Grades:

Grading will be based on a combination of quizzes, tests, projects, homework, and classwork. The grades will be averaged equally.

Absent Work:

Students are required to make up any work they miss during an absence. Upon completion of this work, it is the student’s responsibility to present the work earn full credit.
