Haoyuan Shi earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Cornell University, with a minor in Applied Mathematics. His research centers on the multiscale computational modeling of biological and bio-inspired materials, examining their conformational, mechanical, dynamical, and thermal properties. He previously interned in the Physics Division at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, contributing significantly to the creation of physics-informed interatomic potentials for high entropy alloys, and the exploration of their phase transitions and stability.
