This project is based on the Ubuntu philosophy; it is planned and organized as a space for learning through sharing, dialogue, and mutual respect in speaking and listening, where the stories and history of Black communities are fostered. Ubuntu is an African philosophy expressed as "being human through other people," and it is reflected in the phrase "I am because of who we all are." Ubuntu emphasizes bonding with others and is both a humanistic and social ethic (Mugumbate & Nyanguru, 2013).
