Throughout my time at Concordia, I have been involved with SAND. This on-campus smaller version of the AND has allowed me to build connections with my fellow dietetic classmates along with the graduate students here at Concordia. SAND has allowed me to hear from multiple dietitians throughout the community. I have the opportunity and pleasure to be the 2020-2021 social media/student liaison board member of SAND. These experiences and speakers have opened me up to so many different avenues within the field of dietetics as well as the Fargo-Moorhead community.
Along with my involvement in SAND, I have had the opportunity to volunteer at the Cobber Food Pantry. This new initiative started by the college in the fall of 2020 is a resource to all Concordia students. A few times a month I have been able to help unload and stock the pantry with my fellow SAND members. This experience has been so fulfilling for me and makes me proud to be a Concordia College Cobber.
In 2019, I became a member of the Family Weekend committee here at Concordia. My role was as part of a sub-committee that planned and put together and ice cream social for the student body as well as their families. I enjoyed my time being apart of family weekend so much that in the fall of 2020 I joined again. This year looked a lot different compared to last year due to Covid-19. Although my committee faced a lot of hard decisions and changes we were still able to provide a virtual version of grocery bingo. Being apart of family weekend not only allowed me to build new friendships but build a new found confidence in myself and my leadership skills.
