In March 2020, I had the opportunity to attend the NDAND conference and expo that took place in Fargo, ND. While attending the conference I was able to listen to local professionals on new research in the field of nutrition and dietetics. The expo portion of the conference allowed me to speak with other members throughout the food and nutrition industry. This experience broadened my knowledge to what is out there in the world of nutrition and dietetics.
At Concordia College, one of our main goals is to reduce the amount of food waste seen on campus. Each year a group of individuals measure the total amount of food wasted in the dining hall. I had the opportunity to be apart of this initiative a year ago and see just how much food is wasted on campus. This experience was eye opening and has made me more conscious of the food that I waste in my day-to-day life.
