"From our roots grows the flower that will make the conqueror fall" by Mojo, Oaxacan artistÂ
Mexico has rich and vibrant cultural and religious practices that have been deeply shaped by the land's Indigenous peoples, resilience and resistance in the face of colonialism, and the synthesis of a new nation in the post-colonial context. This site serves as a wide-ranging historical, religious, and cultural catalog of Mexico with recognition that there were semester-based time constraints on this project, as well as the fact that many practices, traditions, documents, art, and more were lost and ignored or destroyed by Western conquests before and during colonization.
