FAQ
When will the season run?
Competition season runs late February through late May.
When is practice?
Official start date will depend on when the computers arrive. They are expected late-february.
Practices/Competitions will be held after school in Mr. Binschus' classroom from 4pm until 5:30pm Monday through Thursday.
If this conflicts with other sports, the athlete must choose one sport to participate in.
Student athletes are encouraged to collaborate time outside of official practice to play over the weekend where possible.
Is there a fee to join the E-Sports team?
For the 2023-24 season, standard Athletics Fee's may apply.
What games will be played?
In the 2022-23 season, Corbett School District will compete against other schools in East County MESD in two games. Five person teams will compete in "League of Legends" and three person teams will compete in "Rocket League."
Discussion is currently underway for adding titles to the 2023-24 season.
Will the games come with content moderation?
All practice sessions and competitions will be played through Vanta Platform, a platform dedicated to moderating gameplay. Corbett students will only interact (verbally and through text) with their teammates and their coach.
Vanta moderators provide a safe space for students to learn and participate in the E-Sports selected for the season.
Students that practice the game outside of official Corbett practice will not have the safe guards in place of adult moderation, and should choose to play with guidance from their adult decision makers.
