Advanced Placement World History: Modern

AP World History Modern:

The purpose of the course is to develop a greater understanding of the evolution of global processes and contacts. The course highlights the nature of changes in international frameworks and their causes and consequences, as well as comparisons among major societies. The course builds on an understanding of cultural, institutional and technological precedents that, along with geography, set the human stage. Periodization forms an organizing principle for analyzing change. This course examines the great cultural civilizations of the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Latin America. It is expected that students who take this course will take the Advanced Placement Exam in May. My syllabus is located here
