Hello! My name is Kaymie Hill, and I’m thrilled to be the band director here at Grangerland! I’m a French horn player from Lubbock, Texas, and I’ve been teaching music for five years—two of them right here in this amazing community. I’m passionate about helping young musicians grow, and I’m especially excited to work with our talented 5th and 6th grade students this year. Outside of school, I love spending time with my husband, our dog, and my wonderful family. Let’s make this a fantastic year of music!
Instruments taught by Mrs. Hill:

Hi! My name is Mrs. Daugherty, and I am the Woodwind and Percussion Director! I started my band journey right here in CISD as a 5th grader in 2009, playing the French horn, and I quickly fell in love with it. I continued playing throughout middle school, high school, and college at the University of North Texas, where I earned my degree.
I have now been involved in music for over 15 years and have been teaching for the past 4 years. I am very passionate about helping students learn not only how to play their instruments, but also the responsibility, teamwork, and perseverance that come with being a musician. Most importantly, I want my students to experience the joy of finding something they truly love and are proud of. I hope to create a positive and supportive environment where every student feels encouraged to grow, try new things, and discover what they are capable of!
Instruments taught by Mrs. Daugherty:
