Cubs with Character Celebration - Respect
Parents of the nominees will be sent a special invite to join the celebration.
You can access your child's grades, attendance information, lunch balance, and more at anytime via the CISD Parent Portal.
More information about grades will be shared at our Open House on September 3rd.
The Third Grade Team will send a weekly email on Fridays with a weekly grade-level academic newsletter attached. These will be filled with helpful tips & tricks, links, updates, and reminders. Please read them regularly and let us know if you have any questions.
Please make sure you are reading Principal Barber's weekly school newsletter (The Cub Connection) every Sunday. It's full of all school-wide and district news you will need.
Personal communication devices are banned at school and may be confiscated if used during school hours. This includes phones, smart watches, and any other communication devices.
Your child should have their yellow Cub Folder in their backpack daily.
Students are only allowed plain water inside the classroom in a leakproof, refillable water bottle.
Your child should have a full change of clothes in their backpack in case of an emergency - including socks and underwear.
Please ensure that your child is dressed according to our district dress and grooming policy on starting page 22 of the student handbook.
We will be continuing our Matter Unit where we will measure, test and record physical properties of matter, and predict, observe, and record changes in the state of matter caused by heating or cooling.
We will finish up our Citizenship Unit and move into our Government Unit where we will focus on the basic structure and functions of various levels of government.
We will finish up our Unit 1 and begin Unit 2 where students will develop scientific skills while engaging in discussions about their reading, observations, and thinking. Students will also focus on an informational writing piece, as well as, learn to read and write with inflectional ending spelling patterns.
Our Character trait for the month of September is Respect.
