Golden Girls Director
Mrs. Britton started dancing at the age of three and trained non-competitively until sixth grade, when she joined the Masters Upper-Level competitive team in Stafford, Texas. In high school, she served as Co-Captain and later Colonel of the Travis Belles Dance Team at William B. Travis High School in Richmond, Texas. Mrs. Britton earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Sam Houston State University, where she was selected to teach the historic Prime Time Line Dancers. Following graduation, she helped open MC Dance Studio in Huntsville, Texas, serving as both an instructor and the assistant to the studio owner.
Prior to joining Conroe High School, Mrs. Britton was the Director of Dance at Creekside Park Junior High and Tomball Junior High in Tomball ISD. She was named Assistant Director of the Conroe High School Golden Girls in 2021 and helped establish the Goldies JV Dance Team in 2022 before taking over as Goldies Director in 2023. In addition to her work in the classroom, Mrs. Britton has served as a drill team tryout judge and was selected to participate in the Texas Dance Educators Association (TDEA) Judges Training Program for the UIL Field Assessment pilot. Mrs. Britton was recently appointed Head Director of the Conroe High School Golden Girls and is honored to continue leading and building upon the program’s proud tradition of excellence.

Ms. Halle Salmond has had a passion for dance since the age of three, when she began training at Frances Lea Dance Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Throughout her years of training, she studied a variety of dance styles, including ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, and clogging. She later attended North Crowley High School, where she was a four-year member of the award-winning Silver Stars Drill Team, serving as President before being selected as Captain during her senior year.
Ms. Salmond earned her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from the University of Houston. While at UH, she was an active member of the Dance Student Association, performed with the Dance Ensemble for two years, choreographed and presented student-led works for community events throughout the Greater Houston area, and became a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. Through the sorority, she performed hip-hop and step routines across the southern region while supporting organizational outreach and fundraising initiatives.
Since graduating, Ms. Salmond has built a diverse career in dance education, performance, and leadership. Prior to joining Conroe High School, she served as the founding director of the Majestikats Drill Team at Calfee Middle School in Willis ISD and previously directed the Orange Pride Drill Team at York Junior High in the Grand Oaks feeder of Conroe ISD. Beyond the classroom, she has served on the contest staff for Ascension Dance since 2025, worked as an instructor and Operations Manager for In-Step Dance Center, and has served on judging panels for team and officer tryouts throughout the Greater Houston area.
Committed to lifelong learning and excellence in dance education, Ms. Salmond is an active member of TDEA and is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Dance Studies at Texas Tech University, with a concentration in Advocacy and Leadership in Secondary Dance Education.
Ms. Salmond is honored to join Conroe High School as Assistant Director of the Golden Girls and Goldies Drill Teams. She looks forward to investing in the growth of each student while helping uphold the program's longstanding tradition of excellence, leadership, and school pride.
