G Suite on Your Mobile Device

Google offers mobile versions of many of its applications. This makes it fast and easy to access your data anywhere, at any time. The examples below demonstrate how to log in to the Gmail, Calendar, and Drive apps, but the process is similar for other Google Apps including Docs, Sheets, and Slides.

Download from the App Store (iPhone)

To download Google apps for your iPhone, launch the App Store and search by app name, then tap "Get."

Download from the Google Play Store (Android)

To download Google apps for your Android phone, launch the Play Store app. In the search bar, type in Gmail, tap the red M envelope icon, then tap "Install." Follow these steps to download and install other Google apps.

Gmail App (iPhone)

Launch the Gmail app. At the bottom of the welcome screen, click "Sign in." On the resulting screen, click "Add account."

An alert lets you know that the Gmail app wants to use google.com to sign in. This is necessary to sync your G Suite account data across devices. Click "Continue."

If your device was previously configured to use one or more Google accounts, the account(s) will be listed.

If one of the listed accounts is the one you wish to use for accessing your email, click on its name and follow the prompts to enter your password.

Otherwise, click "Use another account." Follow the prompts to enter your email address and password.

Upon successful entry of your email address and password, you'll see a screen with your account name and a toggle slider in the on (green) position indicating that the account is enabled. Click "Done."

You'll see an alert asking if you'd like Gmail to send you notifications. Notifications may include alerts, sounds, and icon badges to let you know when you have new mail. Click "Don't Allow" or "Allow" as you prefer.

Your sign-in is complete, and you can now use Gmail.

Gmail App (Android)

If you have an Android smartphone, when you initially set up your phone you may already have configured the Gmail app to use a personal Gmail account. For those already using the Gmail app, follow these instructions to add your new G Suite account.

Launch the app and then click the three vertical lines at the upper left side of your inbox. Tap "Settings," then tap "Add account" on the resulting screen.


On the "Set up email" screen, tap "Google" for the account type.

On the next screen, enter your G Suite email address and then tap "Next."

Enter your password and then tap "Next."

If desired, tap "Terms of Service" and "Privacy Policy" to read them, and then tap "Accept."

Your new G Suite account can now be accessed using the Gmail app.

Once you've added your G Suite account to the Gmail app, you'll also able to sign in to all other Google apps using your G Suite sign-in information.

To switch between your G Suite and personal accounts in any Google app, tap the three vertical lines in the upper left-hand corner of the app, then tap the email address of the account you'd like to switch to.

Calendar App

Launch the Calendar app. If your device was previously configured to use one or more Google accounts, the account(s) will be listed.

If one of the listed accounts is the one you wish to use for accessing your calendar, click on toggle slider to turn it on (blue), then click "Get Started."

If the account you wish to use for accessing your calendar is not listed, click "Add another account." Follow the prompts to enter your email address and password.

Prior to entering your password, an alert lets you know that the Calendar app wants to use google.com to sign in. This is necessary to sync your G Suite account data across devices. Click "Continue."

Upon successful entry of your email address and password, you'll see a screen with your account name and a toggle slider in the on (blue) position indicating that the account is enabled. Click "Get Started."

An alert will ask if the Calendar can access your contacts to show birthdays and guests on events. Click "Don't Allow" or "OK" as you prefer.

You'll see another alert asking if you'd like Calendar to send you notifications. Notifications may include alerts, sounds, and icon badges. Click "Don't Allow" or "Allow" as you prefer.

Your sign-in is complete, and you can now use the Calendar.

Drive App

Launch the Drive app. At the bottom of the welcome screen, click "Sign in."

An alert lets you know that the Drive app wants to use google.com to sign in. This is necessary to sync your G Suite account data across devices. Click "Continue."

If your device was previously configured to use one or more Google accounts, the account(s) will be listed.

If one of the listed accounts is the one you wish to use for accessing Drive, click on its name and follow the prompts to enter your password.

Otherwise, click "Use another account." Follow the prompts to enter your email address and password.

Upon successful entry of your email address and password, you'll see the "My Drive" screen which lists the files and folders you're currently storing in Drive.

If you'd like to be notified when new files are shared with you, click "Turn On." Otherwise, click "No Thanks."
