Grade 9 Band

Welcome Grade 9 Band Students!

On this page, we will have some helpful links and reminders that will help you be successful in band. Make sure you check out the specific instrument resources page (link above) for your instrument.

Things to bring to class:

• Instrument, music folder, pencil - every class

Apps that we'll be using in class. Download the app to your phone so that they all work well together. We promise, we'll use these!

• Google - Classroom, Docs, Drive, Forms, and Meet (just get 'em all!)
• Metronome (Tempo)
• Tuner (Cleartune, iStroboSoft, etc.)

Other helpful tips:

• Clearly label your instrument with your name so you, and everyone else, know which one is yours
• NEVER share your instrument
• NEVER try to fix your own instrument - we have a repair contract
• Keep your music in your backpack
• Reeds - Yes, we provide for free. No, we do not buy the best quality. As you get better at your instrument you should be looking at getting some sweet reeds.
• Practicing - We do not assign practice records but we do mark your practicing.

Concert Black!

This deserves its own little section. When we perform it is very important to have clean, dress clothes that look good in which to perform. Invest now (if you haven't already). Your clothes should be all black dress clothes. No variations. Have questions? We'll be reviewing this in class for sure... stay tuned! (music pun)
