The ISPH MUNSOC is committed to transforming the perspectives of students by preparing them to become socially concerned and politically conscious citizens. It systematically trains participants to become proficient public policy experts with a powerful base in interdisciplinary approaches. The Society moves even further by establishing a culture of interactions. It reaches out to national and international enthusiasts and participants through its connected web.
The ISPH MUNSOC has five overall objectives:
To enable students to contribute to the richness of cultural diversity
To encourage leaders who will make positive contributions to an increasingly multicultural and independent world
To foster reasoned discussion of contemporary issues
To instill an eagerness to embrace the challenges of a more global future
To bring together students interested in participating in various MUN conferences held across the country
Keeping these objectives at the forefront, our events and workshops are open to all students of any institution across the country. We seek to engage in enriching partnerships with other like-minded organizations`, and send our delegations to several conferences and MUNs with the aim to acquire knowledge, experience, and network.
The Department of International Studies, Political Science and History, in consonance with its mission statement, is committed to groom socially concerned and politically conscious citizens into effective public policy experts. The introduction of Master of Arts in International Studies gives a new dimension to the department, which in turn creates an impetus for the teaching and research of the complex forces that determine the shape of the 21st Century on politics in its entire magnitude; international, comparative, theoretical and empirical. The Master of Arts in International Studies programme addresses contemporary developments that impact the governance of societies across the globe- from terrorism to public sector reform. It covers a spectrum of areas that include the study of globalization, development, democracies, processes of state formation, international organizations, theories of International Relations, international political economy, international security, global environmental politics, AsiaPacific and Northeast Asian Politics as well as other area studies.
