The purpose of the Title I Targeted Assistance Program is to provide supplemental academic support to students who demonstrate the greatest need in reading and/or mathematics. Services are designed to help eligible students meet grade-level academic standards.
Students are identified for Title I services using multiple educational measures, including but not limited to:
FastBridge universal screening data
Classroom performance
Teacher recommendations
Diagnostic assessments
Progress monitoring data
Report card grades
State assessment data (when applicable)
FastBridge screening assessments are administered three times per year (fall, winter, spring). Students performing below benchmark expectations may be considered for Title I support.
Students may qualify for Title I services when they:
Score below established benchmark levels on FastBridge assessments;
Demonstrate academic skill deficits compared to grade-level expectations; and
Show a need for supplemental intervention beyond core classroom instruction.
Eligibility is determined through a collaborative review of student data by school staff.
Title I services may include:
Small-group instruction
Supplemental reading intervention
Supplemental math intervention
Evidence-based instructional strategies
Progress monitoring
Targeted skill practice
Services are supplemental and are provided in addition to regular classroom instruction.
Student progress is monitored regularly using:
FastBridge progress monitoring tools
Classroom assessments
Teacher observations
Intervention performance data
Instructional groups and interventions may be adjusted based on student growth and response to intervention.
Parents/guardians are informed of student academic needs and intervention supports through the Individual Reading Improvement Plan (IRIP) process. The IRIP outlines identified areas of need, intervention supports, progress monitoring, and strategies to support student growth.
Ongoing communication regarding student progress may also occur through conferences, progress reports, and other school communication methods.
An annual parent meeting is held during the fall of each school year.
The Title I program is reviewed annually to evaluate:
Student growth and achievement
Effectiveness of interventions
Use of assessment data
Program implementation
Adjustments are made as needed to improve student outcomes.
