Reeds are made of wood and are EXTREMELY FRAGILE!  Do not push on the thin tip of the reed or you will break it.  Broken reeds won't play and should be thrown in the garbage.  Kidder Music sells Juno brand reeds.  They come in boxes of 5.  Be sure to purchase additional reeds in a 2.5 strength BEFORE you run out.  Plastic reeds are also available which last longer and don't break as easily.  However, they don't have the warmth of a wooden reed.

Empty water as needed in a garbage can & oil valves twice a week.  Sunday before lessons & Tuesday before band should be sufficient.  Kidder Music has a good "house brand" of valve oil but Blue Juice and Al Cass - FAST are also excellent choices.
