Kevin Sherwood is the Senior Sound Designer for Treyarch. He is the musical genius and architect of the Call of Duty Zombies music. Zombie Choral Canon 24 will be performed by the Concordia Concert Choir as a precursor to the symposium. Kevin holds a BA in Music Production/Engineering from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. He employs several musical writing tools in his compositions which are evidenced in the complex layering of his music. Most all-encompassing is his awareness and employment of observations from the Doctrine of Ethos—a Greek philosophical concept that lends itself to the idea that certain musical tools have very specific effects on the human mind and if used carefully—can make the listener feel what the composer feels. This can be so clearly heard in his zombie music for COD. Kevin often composes for, and plays all of the instruments on his recordings. In addition, he is a master of technology and sound engineering. He enjoys talking about all the complex interrelated ideas that are embodied in his art with his fans. Kevin relishes the opportunity of this interdisciplinary symposium to present on the “Doctrine of Ethos and the Affect of Music”.
