Career Fair(January 23, 2025)
10 am- 2 pm @ Tegler Student Center
Goal Setting:
Identify your top 3-5 goals (e.g., network, gather info, interview, etc.)
Create a list of target companies and desired roles.
Research & Preparation:
Thoroughly research target companies (websites, LinkedIn, information interview)
Tailor your resume for each company
Practice your introductory pitch (30-second intro highlighting skills)
Prepare thoughtful questions for recruiters (shows engagement)
Review industry trends and challenges (demonstrates knowledge)
Logistical Planning:
Prepare a small portfolio/folder for handouts (resumes, notes, etc.)
Charge your phone and bring a power bank (stay connected)
Mental Preparation:
Practice confidence and a positive attitude (even if you're nervous)
Visualize successful interactions and positive outcomes
Arrive Early:
Get there before the crowds to maximize your time and make a good impression
Pick up a program and identify key companies and booths
Networking & Information Gathering:
Introduce yourself confidently to recruiters and company representatives
Engage in thoughtful conversation, demonstrating your interest
Ask insightful questions about the company, roles, and culture
Collect business cards and company materials (brochures, flyers)
Manage Time:
Allocate time for each target company (plan for 5-10 minutes per interaction)
Don't be afraid to move on from a conversation if it's not productive
Immediate Follow-Up:
Within 24 hours, send personalized thank-you emails to recruiters.
Reiterate your interest in the company and specific roles.
Express appreciation for their time and insights.
Review & Reflect:
Organize your notes and collected materials.
Analyze your experiences, identifying what went well and areas for improvement.
Application Process:
Apply for any positions that align with your interests and for which you're qualified.
Use your notes and conversations to craft compelling cover letters.

Connect with people on LinkedIn, keep up with company news, and continue exploring your career options
