Thank you for your interest in Concord-Carlisle Community Connections (CCCC)!
CCCC is a mentoring program designed to foster inter-generational relationships between CCHS students and business and professional leaders in the Concord-Carlisle community. The program provides high school students with an opportunity to meet directly with mentors to talk about the personal qualities and experiences that helped the mentors in shaping and pursuing their careers. We hope that CCCC will help our students to learn about life and career planning skills, as well as to develop qualities of responsibility, perseverance, integrity, and citizenship.
The program asks students and mentors to meet for a total of 8-10 hours over the course of the spring semester. Students in the program receive academic credit for successful completion of the program. Mentors are rewarded with the knowledge that their lifetime of hard work provided direction, guidance, and insight to young people just beginning to find their way.
There are many reasons to be a mentor:
1. You will get to know one of today’s high school students from a cross-section of the student body at CCHS – each student with a unique story, but all of whom have made a serious commitment to the program. Getting to know any of these students has the capacity to enhance your life in immeasurable ways.
2. You will help guide a student on a path of success. By talking about what worked (and didn’t work) in your own personal and professional life, and by answering students’ questions about what it takes to succeed and achieve career satisfaction, you are offering these students a unique opportunity that they simply cannot get from classroom instruction alone.
3. Your involvement in CCCC will connect you with other people and resources at CCHS and other professionals within the Concord-Carlisle community, which may be a significant and personally rewarding opportunity. You may even discover a new interest as a result of your mentoring experience!
