What is the seat-time waiver?

The seat-time waiver is an opportunity available to Concord High School students enrolled in MOVE UP courses during the school year. The waiver allows students to study off-site (home, coffee shop) rather than sit in the MOVE UP Academy space during their scheduled virtual course. The waiver provides students with increased flexibility in how, when, and where they study. Students should be self-motivated and disciplined in their studies. The seat-time waiver is a privilege, and students are expected to demonstrate academic accountability in their coursework to maintain the waiver. Also, on time attendance at Concord High School is an expectation.

To be eligible for the seat-time waiver, students must meet the following criteria:

• Schedule their online course for Period 1, 2, 7, or 8 (first or last period of the day).

• Have a parent/guardian consent form signed, approved, and on file with Concord Community Schools

• Passing all subjects. Maintain an 80% or higher in online coursework, log in to Canvas at least three times each week, and submit quality work consistently on time. This means a student is not eligible until he/she has completed at least one online course.
