Comstock Elementary School's Parent Lighthouse Team is comprised of several different parents who work with staff members to learn about and practice leadership skills at school and in the community. Parents participate in book studies where they learn about the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Kids and how to integrate the habits into their lives outside of school.
Parents also participate in several leadership events and opportunities throughout the year including Loaves and Fishes food bag distribution, CES Spring Clean-Up, Back to School events, Breakfast with Santa, Literacy Night, holiday parties, and so much more.
The Parent Lighthouse Team sponsors two events each year that focus on family engagement: Game Night in the fall and the Colt Classic Showdown in the Spring. At Game Night, families come to CES to get dinner and play games together all evening. They also leave with a brand new game of their choice to take home. The Colt Classic Showdown is a new, high-energy event where CES staff play a friendly game of basketball against the Board of Education members. Families are able to win raffle baskets, play "minute to win it" games during intermission, visit the concession stand, etc. We are so excited for this event in a couple weeks!
Comstock Elementary School is so fortunate to have this dedicated group of parents working together with us!
